Dreams

Dreams.

How is it that they decide to be yours?

Sometimes a dream can be such a vivid picture. Other times, a fleeting blur of an image.

In the moment, I’m all in. As if I’m an active participant. My favorite kind are the ones that give me a warm and fuzzy, safe feeling.

Does my mind know when I need these to help comfort me, ground me?

Going to bed last night, I knew today was going to be the last day of the challenge. I can’t help but wonder if my dreams helped to inform me of my focus.

In a time when so much is out of our control, perhaps we can lean into our dreams.

Dream big, friends and have hope.

After all, isn’t life a dream?

  1. You closing words about life being a dream brought to mind some of my favorite lines in all of literature, from C.S. Lewis in The Last Battle: “The term is over: the holidays have begun. The dream has ended: this is the morning.” Echoes of Plato as well … dreams can offer comfort. Often they can lead to problem-solving. In the words of Aerosmith: “Dream on until your dream comes through.”

  2. Thank you for this closing message of hope. I had started the year with a Dream Theme for my students. They are a beginning and an end. I love these lines-

“In a time when so much is out of our control, perhaps we can lean into our dreams.

Dream big, friends and have hope.”

    All the best to you!
